Heat pumps

Heat Pumps Sales, Service & Installation

A heat pump is one outdoor unit that heats the house in winter and cools it in summer by moving heat instead of making it. On a frosty morning it steams while it clears ice off its coil, and that is normal. Johnson sells, services and installs them.

Gas furnaces

Furnace Sales, Service & Installation

A furnace handles the heating on its own while a heat pump or air conditioner handles summer. When one stops lighting, cycles on and off, or blows lukewarm air, the cause is often a small part such as an igniter, a flame sensor, a blower motor or a clogged filter.

Heating systems

Heating System Sales, Service & Installation

Houses differ: a furnace in a hall closet behind louvered doors, one in a basement mechanical room, a system with its own ductwork to untangle. Johnson works on every heating system on the market, new installations and repairs alike.

Repair it or replace it?

Most heating calls begin with a single part. An igniter, a capacitor, a thermostat or a blower motor can fail while the rest of the system is sound, and a technician can find it, order it if the truck doesn’t carry it, and get the heat running again.

Some calls end with a different answer. A system that needs repair after repair, keeps cycling on and off, or can’t keep every room warm may be telling you it has run its course. That is when a new system starts to make sense, and a new energy efficient system can lower what heating costs you. Quotes on new systems are free, and financing is available.

July is the other half of the year.

The same heat pump that warms the house in January runs the cycle backwards in summer. The rest of the cooling work, residential and commercial air conditioning, high efficiency systems and AC check-ups, lives on the cool side.
